ODM product development
Turn a customer problem or range opportunity into a product brief, a construction direction and an agreed development sample.
Define the problem
Describe the intended animal, channel, market and commercial position. Share inspiration while identifying design rights and features that must be original.
Make development work explicit
Agree the design deliverables, revision rounds and responsibility for patterns or tooling. Review ideas against materials and packing before locking the silhouette.
Keep decisions traceable
Record why a construction was selected, which sample revision is current and what remains untested. A development concept becomes an order only after approval.
What to send for the first review
Use the downloadable product brief and include the destination market, category, quantity split and target launch date. Mark unknown details as questions so they can be resolved in the proposed scope.
- Product reference, drawing or measurement table.
- Material, color and branding preferences.
- Order split by style, size and color.
- Packaging and documentation needs.
